2022-2023 Season Recap

The MetroWest tournaments have wrapped up and while LYBA didn’t have any champions this year, we did have two teams in their championship games (Boys 8 Gold and Girls 7) and two more in their Final Fours (Boys 8A, Girls 5A). Overall, 13 of our 18 teams won at least 1 game. Not a bad showing!

For the year, LYBA teams played 352 games all together, and we had about 470 practices (26 per team). That’s a lot of driving to and from the gym by the parents; a lot of practice plans and game day lineups from the coaches; and a lot of drills, plays, rebounds, fouls, made shots, high fives and cheering from the bench by the players.

We hope every family enjoyed the season, and will come back again for tryouts next year. We’ll post tryout dates sometime in late August/early September, and tryouts will be around the last week of September/first week of October, with teams announced a few weeks later. Please spread the word now to any families who are new to town, or who maybe missed tryouts last year because they didn’t know when they were.

We also hope your child will continue to work on the game over the off season, whether it be with an AAU team this spring, going to a hoops camp this summer, or even just shooting around in the driveway or at the park. The LYBA board and evaluators love to see improvement year to year when the kids show up for the tryouts.

Thanks again for a fun season.
